Frequently Asked Questions
What's the difference between this and other filters?
TLDR
Puresoft Filter is safe to use in hot water.
Here's the science: Hot water should never run through carbon filters (filters used by others). It will "off-load" previously trapped contaminants back into your water, potentially making your water more contaminated. ๐ต But they won't tell you this or don't know the science behind it. We avoided carbon filters for this exact reason and designed our filters to be safe to use in warm water.
How long does the Cartridge Pack last?
TLDR
The Cartridge Pack will last you for 6 months. But it really depends on your water!
Because each filter lasts 4 to 6 weeks, the Cartridge Pack should be good for 6 months. From our experience, if you live in older homes/buildings or get water from wells, you may need to replace your filters more frequently. We recommend changing your filter within 2 months or when you start to lose water pressure, whichever comes first.
What does the filter remove?
TLDR
Dirt, Microplastics, Rust, Bacteria, Gunk, Chlorine, and Chloramines.
The Puresoft filter is designed to maintain its effectiveness even under high water temperatures. As water flows through the filter, it first passes a 5-micron sediment layer that removes dirt, rust, bacteria, microplastics, and other gunk up to 10 times smaller than a grain of sand. At the same time, the water instantly reacts with 99.5% pure food-grade Vitamin C, which neutralizes chlorine and chloramines. This dual action ensures cleaner, safer, and more refreshing water in a single, seamless process.
Can I drink this water?
TLDR
The Puresoft Filter isn't designed for drinking. It's for washing your face and brushing your teeth.
Compared to drinking from your tap water, drinking from our filter will be much cleaner. However, our filters were not designed for drinking. For drinking water filters, we'd recommend other solutions specifically designed for drinking. Feel free to reach out to us at support@waterdoctor.co if you need filter recommendations for drinking ๐
Are the replacement filters recyclable?
TLDR
Used filters should be disposed of as general trash after each use.
Replacement filters, after use, are not recyclable because it's been contaminated with foreign substances from your tap water. Cartridges should be disposed of as general trash after each use.
